Hello everyone and welcome back to my weekly post on my blog, where we talk about Art and Culture. Today I’ll post my last blog… This has been a journey, where I shared with you guys my point of view as a Spanish Erasmus student in Türkiye. Coincidentally It also lines up with the final stretch of my time as a foreign student, It’s like the end of the cycle. Through these blogs I’ve aim to share my culture with the Turkish people, and to let the Galician people know how it is to live here as a foreigner. I hope I did well. In this last entrance, I want to say overall, how is it to live in Izmir and experience their culture as a Galician.
From drinking Çay on a terrace, going into a bar and listen to a group of friends playing music and having a good time together, to go to Cesme's beach, this experience has been extremely enriching. Every little, tiny detail shows how the Turkish culture is all about giving and sharing, without expecting anything back. These things where the ones that made me feel like home. It was so interesting to see and be able to notice, that we have a lot much in common that what I’ve expected. I’ve experienced a lot of hard situations (flooded apartments, really hard times and the beginning), but there was always a person that helped me to make me feel save and loved.
Living here made me feel like I was still leaving in Galicia, leaving in my home.
